Every year we host a careers event in June, usually the third Thursday of the month, to help match prospective employers and prospective candidates.

The aim of the event is to provide a forum where employers and candidates interested in UX opportunities can come together. We welcome all those who are looking to hire a UX resource or anyone interested in finding new UX opportunities, from the seasoned practitioner to the new graduate.

Events and networking are one of the best ways to find opportunties in your area of interest. Even if you haven’t finished your course or are just starting to explore the many facets of UX, we recommend that you join us and talk to recruiters, consultants, freelancers and academics.

To make the most of this event, be sure to come prepared. Here are a few quick tips:

• Do your homework and research the companies before attending the event
• Update and refine your CV
• If you are serious about a company, customise your CV
• Bring business cards, portfolio, or something that will make you memorable
• Practice your interview skills
• Bring a list of questions for the interviewers
