Hello everyone,

This role is actually 2 roles, but the same profile for both. This is a big project for one of the big 4 banks, producing a consumer tablet app (actually, to make 3 prototypes at this stage, so the project may well extend into working on the production of the chosen design concept). They need this person / people no later than the 5th March, and will pay £350-375pday for the right person (previous tablet experience is essential, Axure would be helpful, and a focus on sketching / rapid prototyping would also be a plus).

The process in this studio is very collaborative, lean and Agile UX; lots of sketching and concepting, collaborative design sessions, light documentation, but ultimately producing an Axure prototype for the app, for presentation to senior stakeholders from the client.

Let me know if you are available for this on the 5th March.

Posted on: 14/02/2012
Organisation: Digital
Role description:
Hello everyone,

The freelance market is suddenly very buoyant, with seemingly new roles coming through every few hours here at Futureheads. If you are interested and available, just let me know (if you have responded to any of these roles in the last 24 hours, I am working my way through emails and will come back to you ASAP):

Full service digital agency – Central London – £350-375pday – 3 months – start date Monday 13th / Tuesday 14th

This role is to join a project after the first stage of UX design, and work with the client to redirect the project, and redesign the first stage of UX design outputs. You will be working with the end clients own UX team to do this, so diplomacy is key, plus an ability to ratify and explain your (re)design ideas, and help produce new concepts and wireframes for the product (big banking website). You will be picking up requirements and strategy documents, absorbing requirements quickly, and creating new flows and journeys, plus wireframes and a new sitemap.

Cool experience design agency – Central London – strategy and insights + design – 1 month rolling £300-325pday start ASAP

This agency have an amazing portfolio of experience design projects, crossing over every touch point (web, mobile, tablet, kiosk and installation, physical space design), and client relationships dating back 10-15 years, open to experimentation. One of their largest consumer brand clients are right at the beginning of a project to promote a new product, and the agency need a UX design to come in and help with strategy and insights (working alongside a creative director and account team), to formalise what shape the project could take, and which touch points and platforms could be involved. Deliverables are not yet set in stone, but there will be a big web element to the project, so experience of designing experiences across multiple platforms would be advantageous.

Socially responsible central London client side role – 3-6 months – UX designer – £300-350pday

This client, who help charities to be more visible and increase the efficiency of donation routes, are looking for a long term UX designer to work alongside 2 other seniors on the team, and the wider agile team of PM’s, dev, visual design and product. The focus for this position is on UX design outputs, rather than the strategy or requirements (which will be handled by the seniors), this means lots of sketching, co creative design sessions with the rest of the team, flows and journeys, lots and lots of brainstorming, and eventually, but not always, working these up into annotated wireframes (for the more complex elements / features). They need this person ASAP.

West London media conglomerate – ongoing (3 months initially) – Senior IA – £350-400pday

One of the largest multimedia conglomerates in the world are looking for a well rounded, senior IA to join one of their bespoke design units, working to redesign and consolidate a bunch of internal systems (for sales, support, customer service etc..) into one. This unit is entirely self contained and agile, with dev, UX / IA, visual design, PM and product all within arms reach, and working collaboratively. The product is already in place as a beta, with lots of solid data, feedback and analytics coming back from this. This feedback is informing the next stage of design. This role requires high level business process analysis gleaned from working with and shadowing the users in the call centre, creation of updated and refined journeys, screen designs and annotated wireframes, followed by running testing and working on iterations.

She has been working at the Centre for HCI Design, City University London, as Centre Administrator, for the last few years. During this time and thanks to her experience in the Centre, her interest in HCI has grown and she has decided to study for the Master course and learn more about the subject.
