London: How to be a better usability consultant (Monday 18 April)
It's a competitive world out there, with more and more qualified usability experts graduating every year from more and more universities.
But the most successful usability consultants are the ones who clients like and trust most. So what standards do clients expect from consultants? And what should we expect from ourselves?
Our April event brings together a panel of forthright and experienced usability consultants and clients to debate scenarios that face usability consultants every day.
What standards should usability professionals meet?
What does it take to be a better usability consultant?
What's the difference between good practice, sharp practice and dishonesty?
How can consultants and clients judge whether what they're being asked to do is ethical or best practice?
We'll be referring to the UPA's draft code of conduct and asking does it go too far or not far enough? The code may well become mandatory for UPA members world wide later this year. Will it help or hinder you?
Feedback from the event will influence the final code.
